Expansion at Timken India’s manufacturing plant at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, will be completed and enhanced production will commence this financial year.
Timken India, part of the US-based $5-billion Timken Company, has invested up to $10 million in the Raipur plant, said Sanjay Koul, Managing Director.
The gear service plant at Raipur is the company’s first such facility outside the US. It has a shop area of 33,000 sq ft spread over two acres.
It supports all servicing and repair requirements of large industrial gear boxes and offers a host of key services that address the gearbox needs of customers.
The company exports 25 per cent of its production and has two other plants are in Jamshedpur and Chennai.
