Titan Industries on Wednesday launched a range of sunglasses ‘Titan Glares’ targeting those in the 25-35 age bracket.
Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan Industries, said “The company today launched ‘Titan Glares’, a product and service targeted at upwardly mobile consumers.”
“India is a sunny and dusty country with a large population riding two-wheelers, making it a naturally attractive market for eye protection through sunglasses,” he added.
He added, “Since inception, Titan has always been a consumer-centric company. Sunglasses are a perfect fashion and personal accessory that combines style with functional benefits.”
The sunglasses market in India is highly unorganised and estimated to be Rs 800-1,000 crore in size, roughly around 20 million in sales, with a growth of 15 per cent CAGR. Titan plans to price its sunglasses between Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,995.
Ravi Kant, CEO, Eyewear business of Titan Industries, said, “The Titan Glares will initially be sold across 228 Titan Eye Plus (TEP) outlets for a year and then will be available at other multi-brand outlets.”
Talking about the Titan Glares, Ravi Kant, said “Sunglasses come in four styles - Aviator, Wayfarer, Sporty and Dressy and are all sourced and manufactured in China. The products are made with materials such as handmade acetates with metal and crystal embellishments for the elegant ladies designs, TR 90 and Magnesium-Aluminium alloys for the sporty styles.”
