Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd has more than doubled its net profit during the third quarter as compared with the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
Increased output, improved realisation and cost conservation have contributed to the growth in net profit.
For the quarter ended December 31, 2013, the paper manufacturer reported a net profit of ₹36.89 crore (₹17.91 crore) on a total income of ₹594 crore (₹472 crore).
During the quarter, TNPL produced more than one lakh tonnes (93,199 tonnes) paper and sold 1.02 lakh tonnes (97,055 tonnes).
On the BSE, the company’s shares closed at ₹125.15 against the previous close of ₹124.90.
