Leading passenger and commercial vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has reported stoppage of work at the company's Igatpuri plant in Nasik, due to a tool-down strike by the union. The strike is a result of a fallout of the suspension of two workmen on disciplinary grounds. One of the suspended workers is an union office bearer. The company said it is in constant dialogue with the union for an early solution of the issue. In a notice to the stock exchange, the company added that it has sufficient stock of engines currently for production of its vehicles. Last month too, the company had suffered shut down for a few days due to wage issues. The company has been facing labour unrest for some time now. Disciplinary action has been initiated for alleged acts of worker indiscipline.
