The employee union of Bosch Ltd - MEA (MICO Employee’s Association) has resorted to a ‘tool-down’ strike at the Bangalore plant on November 14.
According to a company release, the incident was triggered due to a gate-pass issue for early exit without valid explanation and resulted in verbal and physical abuse of an officer by workmen on the shop floor.
The company said it has an effective grievance redressal mechanism system which was not used to resolve this issue and it does not compromise with the safety and security of its employees and would not entertain any form of verbal or physical violence within its premises.
“After due deliberation, a disciplinary action in form of charge-sheet - in line with certified standing orders - has been issued against the identified workmen,” company release said.
