Private power producer Torrent Power Limited (TPL) on Monday posted net profit of Rs 307 crore for the quarter ended September 30 as against Rs 148 crore reported in the corresponding quarter a year ago, registering a staggering 107 per cent jump on year-on-year basis.
Company's total income stood at Rs 2,973.25 crore for the quarter under review up from Rs 2,728.97 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
For the six months period (April-September 2017), company registered net profit of Rs 505.35 crore, up from Rs 191.71 crore in the same period last year.
Total income for six months stood at Rs 6053.96 crore as against Rs 5355.04 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company informed in a filing with the Stock Exchanges.
Torrent Power shares ended negative at Rs 272, down 0.69 per cent from the previous close.
