Private power firm Torrent Power today reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 7.39 crore in the three months ended June.
The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 104.43 crore in the same period a year ago. The figures are after taxes and minority interest.
In a regulatory filing, the company said its total income rose to Rs 2,259.79 crore in the 2013 June quarter from Rs 2,150.86 crore in the year-ago period.
On a standalone basis, Torrent Power posted a net loss of Rs 10.1 crore for the latest June quarter. In the year-ago period, the entity had recorded a net profit of Rs 104.36 crore.
Total income went up to Rs 2,230.16 crore in the three months ended June this year from Rs 2,138.76 crore in the same period a year ago.
According to its website, Torrent Power has a generation capacity of 1,647.5 MW and distributes power to more than 3 million customers annually in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Bhiwandi and Agra.
Shares of the company fell over two per cent to close at Rs 90.30 on the BSE.
