Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold 13,394 units in June 2014, a 2.97 per cent fall, compared with 13,805 units sold during the same month a year ago.

The company exported 1,384 units of Etios series last month.

Domestic sales stood at 12,010 units during the month under review, compared with 11,010 units in 2013, thereby registering 9 per cent growth.

“We welcome the Government’s decision to extend the excise duty concessions and hope this will help improve market sentiments further. The newly-launched Corolla Altis and Etios Cross have been well-accepted by the customers, especially for quality, durability and reliability,” said N Raja, Director and Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing.

The company sold 922 units and 626 units of the Corolla Altis and Etios Cross, respectively. It received more than 5,400 total booking orders for Etios Cross and more than 3,000 for Corolla Altis.

The waiting period for Etios Cross is more than three months and more than two months for Corolla Altis.

“We are currently working towards reducing the waiting period,” Raja added.
