Toyota Kirloskar Motor today reported a 37.36 per cent decline in its domestic car sales at 9,007 units in April 2013.
The company had sold 14,378 units in the corresponding month of the last year, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said in a statement.
During the month, the company exported 1,449 units of the Etios series to South Africa, taking the total sales registered in April this year to 10,456 units.
TKM Deputy Managing Director and COO (Marketing and Commercial) Sandeep Singh said: “The market continues to be sluggish and is expected to take some time to revive. We have taken measures to reduce inventory, both at our and at the dealers’ end.”
