Toyota Kirloskar Motor today reported a 14.11 per cent increase in car sales to 12,281 units in October.
The company had sold 10,762 units in the same month last year, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said in a statement.
“The market is still sluggish, especially the passenger car segment. The SUV and MPV segments are comparatively better and we hope to see the market picking up as the festive season continues,” Toyota Kirloskar Motor Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) Sandeep Singh said.
The company sold 4,596 units of sedan Etios and hatchback Liva last month. It also sold 5,889 units of multi-utility vehicle Innova, besides 1,378 units of the Fortuner SUV.
Luxury sedan Corolla Altis contributed to the sales tally with 332 units.
