Toyota Kirloskar Motor more than doubled its growth with 15,948 units sold in December 2011 compared with 6,362 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, according to a press release from the company.

At 151 per cent, this is the automobile major's highest growth in 2011. The release also said that the company registered an annual growth of 82 per cent in the calendar year just gone by. It sold over 1.36 lakh units in 2011 as against 74,762 units sold in 2010.

The Etios series sales topped the annual sales volume for the company with 43,313 units of the Etios and 20,262 units of the Etios Liva sold respectively. The Innova, the Fortuner and the Corolla Altis followed with 51,930 units, 10,946 units and 9,283 units respectively, said the release.

Commenting on the year's performance, Mr Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director – Marketing, TKM, said, “The past year has seen good sales in TKM despite challenging market conditions and unfortunate occurrence of Tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand.”

According to him, the company has a new array of vehicles lined up for 2012. “We are looking forward to the prestigious Delhi Auto Expo 2012, where we will showcase the New face of Toyota with the New Innova, the New Fortuner, the New LC 200, the New Prius and the New Camry, in addition to our existing line up of vehicles,” said Mr Singh in the release.
