Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Thursday launched the all-new Camry Hybrid and Camry Gasoline (petrol) priced at ₹31.92 lakh and ₹28.80 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Camry boasts an exterior creating innovative, prestige appearance appropriate for luxury sedan, the company said.
The Camry Hybrid comes with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive powertrain that combines the performance of a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle four cylinder gasoline engine and a high torque electric motor.
The hybrid version has a combined power (engine + motor) output of 205 PS coupled with fuel economy of 19.16 kmpl and 122.8 gm of carbon dioxide emissions per kilometre of driving, which is lesser than conventional vehicles if similar engine size, it said.
Some of the safety features of the new Camry comprise airbags including knee bag, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist control, impact absorbing vehicle body and back monitor with corner sensors. "Camry is a symbol of Toyota's prestige and has been well received in India. We have sold more than 8,000 Camry since launch (2002). Camry Hybrid, a locally manufactured hybrid, has also been well accepted," Naomi Ishii, MD, TKM, told reporters here at the launch.
62% sales growth Currently, Camry Hybrid constitutes 73 per cent of total Camry sales, he said.
As of March, TKM registered a growth of 62 per cent in its overall sales in March at 13,333 units in the domestic market against 8,206 units in March 2014.
