The trade unions in the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, who are on strike protesting against the Government’s proposed disinvestment plan, today decided to move Madras High Court against the interim stay by the court restraining labour unions in the public sector from going on strike.
Talking to reporters here, Rama Udhyakumar, leader of the 17 trade unions, said the decision was taken at a joint action committee meeting of the trade unions.
The petition would be filed on Monday, he said.
Udhyakumar said the lignite production in the three mines have come down due to the strike.
NLC sources said 2,307 MW power was generated in all three thermal units today against the installed capacity of 2,490 MW.
More than 30,000 workers are on strike since Wednesday against the disinvestment proposal ignoring the interim stay order.
