Tata group firm Trent Ltd today reported 73.52 per cent jump in standalone net profit at Rs 15.6 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 on account of better sales.
The company had reported net profit of Rs 8.99 crore in the July-September quarter of last fiscal.
Trent’s net sales increased by 24.88 per cent to Rs 267.1 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 213.88 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.
Overall expenses of the company were at Rs 268.95 crore during the quarter, an increase of 16.88 per cent at Rs 230.09 crore logged in the year—ago period.
Trent Ltd scrip closed at Rs 918 on the BSE, down 0.62 per cent from the previous close.
