To pay a tribute to the late Verghese Kurien, Amul will be the main sponsor to marathons being organised here on January 27 by the Institute of Rural Management-Anand (IRMA)which the Milkman of India had founded.
The sixth annual marathon known as “Anand Run”is being organised by IRMA students inviting the people of above 14 years to join according to a press release.
The Amul parlor at IRMA gate will distribute forms for the participants’ registration with a registration fee of Rs 100. The winners runner-up in the main 13-km run will win a cash prize of Rs 6000, Rs 3000 respectively in both female, male categories.
Winners of the shorter version of 5 km will win prizes of Rs 3000,Rs 1500 in their respective categories.
Kurien father of India’s White Revolution had passed away at the age of 90 years in September 2012.
