Truth need not always prevail. The success of Aamir Khan's talk show Satyamev Jayate has spawned a host of fake Web sites purporting to be the original show site.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Star India warned consumers about the existence of fake Web sites using the official logo and identical look and feel of its official Web sites. It reiterated that the official Web site can be accessed only with URL:  www.satyamevjayate.in.

The broadcaster said that fake Web sites using URLs such as

satyamevjayateindia.org and
satyamev-jayate.in have aped the look and feel of the official Web site. Star has also blocked the YouTube feed of the show. Incidentally some of the fake Web sites are also displaying advertisements from the online official advertising partners.

“Neither Star India nor Aamir Khan Productions Private Ltd has given permission to any entity or person to set up, host, or operate any Web site associated with ‘

Satyamev Jayate' or to use any of the trademarks, logos, or trade names associated with the programme, or owned by Star India, AKPPL or any of the sponsors/partners of the programme,” the broadcaster stated.

It warned viewers that fake Web sites may have been set up with mala fide intentions to obtain money under false pretence.
