TTK Prestige has tied up with German specialty glass maker Schott AG to launch a new range of cooking appliances.

The Prestige Premia range offers gas tables and induction cook tops with Schott glass that can withstand high-level thermal shocks and mechanical impacts.

Priced upwards of Rs 5,900, the induction cook tops are positioned in the high-end of the Rs 1,200-crore market.

Similarly, the gas stove is in the premium range priced at around Rs 6,500. The gas stove market in India is estimated at Rs 1,300 crore.

TTK's partnership with Schott AG comes close on the heels of its other global tie-ups with companies such as World Kitchen, Meyer International (for premium glassware and cookware) and Vestergaard Frandsen (for water filters). In the last few years, the company has been focussing on the kitchen as a domain rather than offering mere kitchen products such as pressure cookers or cookware.

Speaking at the launch, Mr S. Ravichandran, Managing Director, TTK Prestige Ltd, said that the kitchen has become a ‘flaunt object' and kitchen appliances are given as much importance as a television or furniture in today's homes.
