Men's apparel and accessories maker Turtle Ltd plans to become a complete menswear brand with the launch of deodorants, shoes and sunglasses along with its existing range of accessories, according to Mr Shitanshu Jhunjhunwala, Director, Turtle Ltd.

The company, which currently owns two brands, Turtle and London Bridge, both present primarily in the formal-clothing category, is planning to launch a new brand soon, which would be more of a casual-wear brand targeting the youth, Mr Banerjee said.

To further the expansion of the brand, it intends opening three exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) in Bangalore by March.

“The stores would be about 1,000 sq ft , each with an investment of about Rs 20 lakh,” said Mr Jhunjhunwala.

The brand currently has two EBOs in Bangalore, and also features its products in several multi-brand stores such as Pantaloons, Brand Factory, Central and Shopper's Stop.

The 18-year-old company today operates 50 EBOs pan-India and plans to open another 25 outlets over the next 15 months. The Kolkata-based company is internally funded, but is open to PE funding, Mr Shantanu Banerjee, Head of Marketing, Turtle Ltd, said.

New collection

Turtle has launched a new range of clothing and accessories – the ‘Unforgettable Collection' aimed for the upcoming festive season.

The new range includes a line of accessories, T-shirts, and formal wear in the price range of Rs 495 for T-shirts, Rs 895 for shirts and Rs 995 for trousers.

The brand also launched their Customer Loyalty Programme where the customer gains four points on every purchase of Rs 100 and 100 accumulated points can be redeemed as discount on a purchase or can be donated to the company's fund to save Olive Ridley turtles.
