TVS Motor Company on Thursday posted 14 per cent growth in sales in August to 194,898 units, compared to 170,735 in the same month in the previous fiscal.
The company said in a statement that it continued to maintain growth with contributions from all segments in domestic and export sales, with scooters taking the lead.
Total two wheeler sales grew by 14 per cent to 190,184 units in August 2011 in comparison with 167,109 units recorded in the same month of 2010.
Scooter sales increased by 28 per cent to 52,253 units, from 40,913 units. Motorcycles grew by 17 per cent accounting for 77,726 units against 66,574 units in August 2010.
The company sold 4,714 units of three wheelers in August as against 3,626 units in the comparable month of the previous year, a growth of 30 per cent.
Exports grew by 48 per cent recording total sales of 29,984 units in August 2011 against 20,245 units in the same month of the previous year. The company exported 26,479 units of two wheelers in comparison with 19,028 units in August 2010, an increase of 39 per cent.
