TVS Motor Company’s total sales in November dropped marginally to1,71,873 units from1,75,535 units in the same period last year.
The company’s two-wheeler sales dropped 3.5 per cent to 1,66,783 units (1,72,829). Domestic sales (sales from company to dealer) saw a marginal decline at 1,50,056 units (1,50,406).
Motorcycle sales grew 5 per cent to 65,494 units. Scooter sales decreased 15 per cent to 37,470 units.
Domestic retail sales during the festive period (from the retailer to the customer) rose 19 per cent to 1,85,000 two-wheelers. This has resulted in significant reduction of stocks at the dealer level, said the company in a press release.
The company’s total exports for November 2012 went down 17 per cent to 20,080 units. Two-wheeler exports dropped 25 per cent to 16,727 units.
The company witnessed an 87 per cent increase in three-wheeler sales at 5,054 units.
