TVS Motor Company has reported a 24 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2014, against the corresponding quarter previously.
Net profit during the third quarter jumped to ₹90.18 crore (₹68.80 crore) on an income of ₹2,652.91 crore (₹2,057.60 crore).
The two- and three-wheeler manufacturer has declared an interim dividend ₹0.75 per share (75 per cent) an equity share of ₹1 each absorbing ₹41.95 crore, including dividend distribution tax. Total two-wheeler sales were up by 22 per cent to 6.27 lakh (5.12 lakh units); motorcycle sales were up 20 per cent to 2.48 lakh units (2.07 lakh units); scooter sales jumped 51 per cent to 1.86 lakh units (1.23 lakh units); and three-wheeler sales were higher by 36 per cent to 28,128 units (20,701 units).
The company informed the BSE that Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director, has been reappointed for a further five-year period effective from April 24.
