TVS Motor Company has reported a 9 per cent drop in third quarter net profit at Rs 52 crore, from Rs 57 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue rose marginally to Rs 1,799 crore (Rs 1,775 crore).

“Profit for the quarter is marginally lower due to reduction in export incentives from 5.5 per cent to 2 per cent and investment in brands,” said the company in a release.

A combination of several factors including delayed monsoons, high interest rates and the overall subdued sentiment affected sales in the two-wheeler industry, the release added.
