Chennai-based two-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company on Monday reported 22.46 per cent decline in its total vehicle sales in September at 1,70,097 units.
The company had sold 2,19,369 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
Total two-wheeler sales of the company fell by 23.46 per cent last month to 1,65,092 units from 2,15,690 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Scooter sales dipped by 28.32 per cent to 40,055 units in September from 55,879 units in the same month of 2011 while motorcycle sales went down by 29.74 per cent to 63,832 units from 90,848 units in the year-ago period.
The company’s domestic two-wheeler sales registered a decline of 22.31 per cent to 1,49,191 units as against 1,92,027 units in September 2011.
Three-wheeler sales of the company, however, went up by 36.04 per cent to 5,005 units from 3,679 units in the same month of 2011, the statement said.
Company’s total exports decreased by 27.55 per cent to 18,818 units from 25,973 units in the same month previous year, it added.
