TVS Motor Co has posted a 7 per cent rise in total sales of 1,77,662 vehicles in February, compared with 1,65,696 units sold during the same month last year.

In February this year, TVS Motor reduced its prices between Rs 850 and Rs 3,500 across its product range, passing on the benefit of the excise duty cut announced in the interim Budget to its customers.

The company’s total exports rose 31 per cent with sales rising to 28,782 vehicles in February, from 21,896 units during the same month of last year. Two-wheeler exports posted a 26 per cent growth with sales of 22,713 units (18,095 vehicles in February 2013).

The company’s total two-wheeler sales rose by 6 per cent to 1,70,293 vehicles (1,60,895 units) during the month under review. Domestic two-wheeler sales registered a 3 per cent growth to 1,47,580 units (1,42,800 units), while scooter sales grew by 37 per cent to 41,990 vehicles (30,611 units)

Motorcycle sales grew by 3 per cent to 62,762 vehicles units (60,985), while the company’s three-wheeler sales rose 53 per cent to 7,369 units (4,801) in February 2014.
