TVS Motor Company has posted a 6 per cent rise in total sales of 186,313 units in January compared with 175,931 vehicles sold during the same month a year ago.
The company's total exports grew 39 per cent with sales rising to 28,875 units (20,723 units in January 2013) during the month under review. Two-wheeler exports registered a 35 per cent rise with sales rising to 23,438 units (17,406 units), it said in a statement.
Two-wheeler sales rose 5 per cent to 179,576 units (171,513 units), while domestic two-wheeler sales accounted for 156,138 units (154,107 units). Scooters sales grew 19 per cent to 45,198 units (37,946 units).
Motorcycles sales grew marginally to 65,449 units (64,555 units), while the company’s three-wheeler sales rose 52 per cent to 6,737 units (4,418 units), the statement added.
