UFO Moviez India Ltd,a digital movie distribution company, and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. on Friday announced a collaboration to bring a transition in the audio experience across different digital cinema screens in East India.
Dolby Laboratories is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
The tie-up applicable to screens, with whom only UFO has a distribution tie-up, will see the installation of high quality cinematic surround sound.
Standalone cinema screens, who are not associated with UFO, can also get the systems installed from Dolby.
Dolby will assist UFO in setting up digital encoding and provide a UFO-Dolby co-branded cinema processor that will help deliver an end-to-end digital sound process. It will also help provide an authentic audio experience in theatres.
“We have invested in bringing surround sound from Dolby to our digital cinema chain in East India because we are committed to delivering the technology that adds value to the entertainment experiences for our viewers,” Mr Pankaj Jaysinh, COO, UFO, Moviez India Ltd, said.
