FMCG firm Jyothy Laboratories Ltd (JLL) has promoted K. Ullas Kamath as its Joint Managing Director with effect from January 23, 2012.
“Subsequent to the meeting of the board of directors of Jyothy Laboratories Ltd held on January 23, 2012, K. Ullas Kamath, Deputy Managing Director, was appointed as Joint Managing Director of the company,” the company said in a statement.
Mr Kamath, who joined Jyothy Laboratories 21 years ago, has been the driving force in transforming the company from a proprietary concern to a multi-brand FMCG corporate with key brands like Ujala, Henko, Pril, Fa, Margo, Mr. White, Chek, Neem, Exo and Maxo, the company said.
“Under his leadership, JLL had a successful IPO offering in the year 2007 and a QIP in 2011. He was also instrumental in the takeover of Henkel AG’s India operations in 2011 and helped elevate JLL from a 3 brands to a 10 brands company,” it said.
Mr Kamath was also involved in the launch of Jyothy Laboratories’ ‘Fabric Spa’ in 2008, which facilitated the company to diversify into the services sector as well, it added.
