Vijay Mallya led United Breweries has reported a net profit of Rs 98.64 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012, mainly on account of robust sales.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 71.04 crore for the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal, United Breweries Ltd said in a statement.
Net sales of the company stood at Rs 1,225.82 crore for the quarter under consideration against Rs 952.54 crore for the same period a year ago.
The figures for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 are not comparable with those of corresponding periods of the previous year.
This is because Millennium Beer Industries Ltd, United Millennium Breweries Ltd, UB Nizam Breweries Pvt Ltd, Chennai Breweries Pvt Ltd and UB Ajanta Breweries Pvt Ltd have been amalgamated with the company on various dates during the previous financial year, UBL said.
