Rockwell Automation, the $6.62-billion provider of industrial automation and information solutions, is hopeful that manufacturers in India will move to Connected Enterprise – the convergence of information technology and operations technology – to improve productivity and efficiency.
Less than 14 per cent globally have connected their machines to the enterprise network and only a few progressive manufacturers have bridged the IT and OT divide.
However, domestic companies in sectors such as automotive, life sciences and tyre will be the early movers in adopting the Connected Enterprise, Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation India, told newspersons.
The US-based company has over thousand customers, including MRF and Reliance in India, he said. Rockwell showcased in the city ‘On the Move 2015 the Connected Enterprise’ technology to its existing and potential customers.
It partners with Cisco to help client manufacturers improve their business performance. Tom O’Reilly, President, Asia Pacific, Rockwell Automation, said the company is focussed on the biggest emerging markets of India, China and South-East Asia.
These markets are witnessing rapid growth due to increased rate of urbanisation, and providing huge prospects for Rockwell’s products and solutions.
