VA Tech Wabag Ltd has reported a 34 per cent jump in net profit for the second quarter ending September 30, 2011, as compared with that of the corresponding quarter previously.
According to a press release from the company, it has reported a net profit of Rs 7.1 crore on revenue of Rs 169 crore during the second quarter against the comparable period's net of Rs 5.3 crore on revenue of Rs 135.2 crore.
The firm consolidated order book of the Chennai-based multinational company in water and waste water management stands at Rs 3,306 crore with 70 per cent of the value relating to projects in India and the balance to that of overseas subsidiaries.
On the NSE, the company's shares of Rs 2 closed at Rs 341.90, about 2 per cent higher against the previous close of Rs 349.60.
