Water treatment company, Va Tech Wabag is restructuring its business model for strengthening focus, a top company official said on Monday.
“To strengthen the business focus, your company is restructuring the business model. The focus will be on each product vertical going forward — as opposed to geography to scale up the business,” said Mr B D Narang, Chairman, VA Tech Wabag Ltd at the company annual general body meeting here.
He said, “As part of the strategic initiatives, the business development function is being centralised under corporate marketing which will add to strengthening the relationship with customers“.
“The business vertical is reorganised into product—based. It will be now municipal business vertical, industrial water segment, desalination business and operation and maintenance vertical,” said an official.
On the company’s ongoing projects, Mr Narang said their flagship Nemmeli Desalination Project (near Chennai), has made a “steady progress” during the year and was expected to be “completed” by September—end.
Besides, he said, the company achieved financial closure for the BOOT (Build, Own, Operate and Transfer) project at Ulhasnagar during the year.
