Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) on Wednesday reported a fall of 7.03 per cent in its total sales of Eicher branded products at 3,917 units in April 2013.
The company, which is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 4,213 units in the same month in 2012.
Domestic sales stood at 3,766 units in April 2013 as against 3,963 units in the year-ago period, down 4.97 per cent, VECV said in a statement.
VECV’s sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market dipped by 10.63 per cent to 2,126 units during the month from 2,379 units in the year-ago period. Heavy commercial vehicle sales dipped by 35.29 per cent to 506 units from 782 units in April, 2012, it said.
Exports went down by 39.6 per cent during the month to 151 units from 250 units in April, 2012.
