Automaker VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) today reported a fall of 18 per cent in total sales of Eicher branded products at 4,962 units in March 2013.
The company, which is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 6,051 units in the same month in 2012.
Domestic sales stood at 4,760 units in March 2013 as against 5,786 units in the year—ago period, down 17.73 per cent, VECV said in a statement.
Exports went down by 23.77 per cent during the month to 202 units from 265 units in March, 2012.
VECV’s sales of light commercial vehicles in the domestic market dipped by 21.40 per cent to 2,820 units as against 3,588 units in the year—ago period.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales fell by 21.65 per cent to 876 units from 1,118 units in March 2012.
