Now, you can control the settings on your water heater from anywhere and get alerts from the device in case it fails.

V-Guard Industries Ltd, a popular name in voltage stabilisers, inverters and geysers, has launched Verano, its all-new do-it-all intelligent water heater.

The Kerala-headquartered company has joined the list of consumer products firms that have launched Wi-Fi enabled home products driven by Internet of Things (IoT) wave.

Verano water heater can be operated through an app on your smartphone and can be controlled via Wi-Fi connection.

It will also trigger alerts to consumers through the app and register through with one click that will notify the service centre.

The water heater will also provide energy consumption details, besides giving alerts, if the device is running dry and cut off power supply immediately.

“The launch of Verano follows the roll out of our Pebble water heater two years ago. This is India’s first IoT-enabled product and marks our growing capabilities in digital technologies.

“The new product is in response to the changing needs of consumers, particularly young buyers who are increasingly adopting smartphone-enabled products. Also, home automation is set to become a mainstream. So we are preparing for the future,” V Ramachandran, Director and Chief Operating Officer, said here.

He said the product was developed by the in-house R&D team with some technology partners.

“We have a cloud-based system which will support the operation of the product,” he added.

Verano comes with EPAC coating that can withstand very high pressure, and a high quality heating element to ensure better durability and longevity.

The product will be sold in two variants – 25 litre model will carry a price tag of ₹17,500, while 15 litre variant will be priced at ₹16,000.

Verano will be manufactured with Pebble range of products and others in its own factory in Himachal Pradesh.
