Hospitality chain Viceroy Hotels Limited has posted a loss of Rs 1.74 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013 against a loss of Re 0.97 crore in the corresponding quarter last year on a standalone basis.

The company’s total income for the second quarter was, however, up at Rs 18.92 crore against Rs 18.01 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The Hyderabad-based hospitality company on a consolidated basis has posted a loss of Rs 1.83 crore during the second quarter against a loss of Rs 1.15 crore in the corresponding quarter a year-ago.

The income was marginally down at Rs 27.27 crore (Rs 27.55 crore).

The consolidated results include that of subsidiary companies of Café D’Lake, which operates restaurant chains Minerva CoffeeShop and Blue Fox & Restaurant, and Crustum Products, which operates BreadTalk outlets, according to a statement filed to the exchanges by P. Prabhakar Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Viceroy Hotels.

The company shares ended at Rs 17.90, down 0.83 per cent on the BSE.
