DDB has an advanced TV technology platform. It also can convert 2D channels into 3D.

Leading consumer durable firm Videocon Industries has partnered with Digital Direct Broadcast (DDB) to provide a ‘set-top box less’ experience in watching television. The technology will be available in all the new LEDs from 32 inch to 58 inch sizes.

DDB has an advanced TV technology platform. The partnership between Videocon and DDB sets new standards in home entertainment experience, as the advanced TV operating system will converge various features on a single platform. It will help receive digital signals without a set-top box.

Its cloud computing ability helps viewers work and save files on cloud, and allows browsing on social networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. It also can convert 2D channels into 3D, says the company.

“We believe that this revolutionary technology will transform the way consumers watch television. Providing a set-top box less platform to the Indian consumers and enlivening them with true to life audio and video capabilities separates this technology from other players in the market,” Anirudh Dhoot, Director, Videocon, said.

The new DDB technology-enabled LED was unveiled by the Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.
