The Videocon Group is likely to make operational its light emitting diode display (LED) television manufacturing unit at Sector V in Salt Lake on the eastern parts of the city by December. According to the Commerce and Industry Minister, Partha Chatterjee, the company had closed its Sector V facility last year for revamping the assembly line. The new facility, he said, is likely to be operational on December 16. This facility was earlier used by Videocon to manufacture CRT (cathode ray tubes) colour TVs.
