Vivanta by Taj-Begumpet in Hyderabad has launched its second Thai Pavilion in India stating that it was destination restaurant.
Thai Pavilion at Vivanta by Taj-President, Mumbai, was the country’s first Thai restaurant, offering guests the quintessential Thai experience.
Celebrity Chef Ananda Solomon introduced the Thai pavilion as a culinary destination in early 1990s.
“I am happy that Vivanta by Taj-Begumpet will be home to the legendary Thai Pavilion. We look forward to welcoming guests to an exciting culinary journey,” said Jaikant Shroff, General Manager.
“It is all about herbs and the way they are blended that make a difference to the Thai cuisine. Most of them are imported,” the Chef told Business Line .
It is proposed to set up another Thai pavilion during the year. It took about a year to groom people to handle Thai food. It is distinguished by the use of hand-pounded spices such as Thai holy basil, mint, cilantro, lemongrass and galangal (Thai ginger) and premium ingredients.
“I worked in Thailand and closely studied the Thai food and its subtle delights. These are now being offered for food lovers,” he said. The trend is to have an open kitchen where people get to order and savour what they want to eat by ordering their choicest dishes.
