Volkswagen, the German car maker, has reduced the prices of high-end models of Polo and Vento. New features have also been added to these cars to increase sales.
The company will start sales of the ‘refreshed’ models by the second half of September, said a company statement.
The Polo Highline, post the new features, will see prices coming down to Rs 5.84 lakh (from Rs 6.24 lakh), while that of the Vento Highline will be down to Rs 8.74 lakh (from Rs 8.95 lakh).
The Trendline and Comfortline varieties of Polo with the new added features will see their respective prices increase to Rs 4.89 lakh (from Rs 4.67 lakh) and Rs 5.38 lakh (Rs 5.30 lakh).
Similarly, the Trendline and Comfortline of Vento with the new added features will see their prices rise to Rs 7.29 lakh (from Rs 7.18 lakh) and Rs 7.75 lakh (Rs 7.64 lakh), respectively. All the above mentioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi. Volkswagen currently has a market share of less than three per cent in India. Arvind Saxena, newly appointed Managing Director, said the company aims to take its market share to more than three per cent by the end of this year.
“Our focus is to give a push to our brand. Our next phase is to build volumes,” he said at a conference.
