Volkswagen, Europe’s largest carmaker, has launched its new generation Touareg in India. The sports utility vehicle (SUV) will be available in a diesel variant with automatic transmission.
The Touareg is priced at Rs 58.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and the sales of the vehicle is expected to start from end of September, the company said in a statement.
“India is a key market for our overall strategic growth plans and we are sure that the launch of the best products will affirm our commitment to provide the latest technologies and high value to our Indian customers,” said Volkswagen Passenger Cars Managing Director Arvind Saxena.
Touareg is equipped with three-litre V6 TDI engine and has an eight-speed automatic transmission. The SUV has a mileage of 12.08 km per litre (ARAI certified).
Electronic Stability Control, anti-braking system, driver and passenger airbags and front and rear disc brakes are some of its features.
