With Euro 6 or BS VI compliant vehicles, Volvo Auto India has clarified that its vehicles have the lowest CO2 emissions among all luxury car brands in the country.
All the models available in India have sub-2L engines and comply with the most stringent emission norms. Volvo Cars made Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) standard in 2007, a statement issued here said.
The company’s clarification comes in the wake of the recent registration ban on 2,000 CC diesel vehicles in Kerala.
According to the company’s spokesperson, the DPF reduces emission of particulate matter (PM) by up to 99 per cent and the company has taken the lead to clean the air in and outside its vehicles. The cars will also have a clean-zone carbon filter, which restricts particulate matter from entering the cabin.
