Premium American watch brand Bulova is debuting in India through an exclusive partnership with e-commerce platform Amazon.
The company will offer watches from an entry level price point of about ₹10,000 and go up to ₹1 lakh.
The range available includes Automatic, Classic, Diamond, Marine Star and Precisionist collections. In addition, the company has also launched a comprehensive selection of watches from its Caravella range.
“Given the size and demographics of the Indian market, we thought taking the online sales route is the best as this will help us reach a larger number of consumers,” said June Rhee, Vice-President, Asia-Pacific, Bulova. Asked if the company would look at expanding on other online platforms or have an offline presence in the future, Rhee said Bulova is testing the market and based on the response from Indian consumers, it could look at exploring additional opportunities.
She said the company is exploring options of having an offline presence not to sell but for consumers to be able to touch and feel and experience the brand.
Meanwhile, Vikas Purohit, Head-Fashion, Amazon India, said: “Fashion and premium watches are one of the fastest growing categories on our marketplace. This initiative is in keeping with Amazon’s endeavour to bring the best of the brands for Indian consumers.”
