Water heater manufacturer Venus Home Appliances has launched 65 products in fan segment, including ceiling, table, pedestal, wall and exhaust fans across the country today.
Addressing media persons, I Ram Kumar, Director, said the company’s entry into the fan business complements its water heater business, a winter season product, and the fan business, a summer season product, he added.
The company’s distribution network has 4,000 dealers, 170 service centre and 13 offices, which it will leverage for the distribution of its new product. The company plans to invest ₹7 crore in promotion and branding activities. The products’ price range from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500.
Syed Shabbir, National Sales Head, said: “Many local players in the fan segment are seeing 2 per cent drop in sales as they do not have after-sales service. This is the area where we want to focus on.” The company plans to add more dealers and service centres to its network and is targeting 5 per cent market share by 2020.
Currently, fans are manufactured on a contract basis, but there are plans to produce fans in the company’s Tuticorin facility soon. The facility has 60 per cent capacity utilisation and the company expects to end the year with the revenue of ₹145 crore.
