With a vision to transform the lives of underprivileged rural communities in 2002, the Light of Life Trust, a non-governmental organisation founded by Villy Doctor has come a long way.
The organisation aims to enrich and empower people’s lives through integrated, holistic, sustainable social models.
In a unique initiative undertaken by the Light of Life Trust and Spaces Home and Beyond, which is part of the global Welspun Group, children from the slums of Worli in Mumbai were educated and empowered.
As part of this initiative, a group of 25 children were mentored by professional dancers to choreograph a flash mob performance that showcases the need for ‘Freedom of Expression’. The children were given the opportunity to perform alongside a professional dance troupe at the flash mob that took place at Infiniti Mall on Independence Day.
Spaces Home and Beyond of Welspun Retail is a part of the $2000 million Welspun Group of companies. Welspun gives back to society by embracing its Indian roots and working extensively to educate and empower children. Welspun has also undertaken several other CSR initiatives.
