Western Digital eyes 15% growth in FY15

Global manufacturer of computer hard disk drive, Western Digital Company (WDC) today said it is looking at 10-15 per cent market growth in India in the current fiscal on the back of rising demand in tier II and tier III cities.

“We registered 10-15 per cent growth in 2013-14 and expect the same pattern to continue in the current financial year. The major growth for this sector is in tier II and tier III cities,” Director, WDC — India and South Asia — Subroto Das said here.

He said the company has been consolidating its presence in cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Indore, Kanpur, Chennai, Jaipur, Guwahati, Patna and Kolkata.

Das said 30 per cent of the sales were generated from online platform, 20 per cent from retail and rest through other platforms.

He said they are also focusing on the availability of products across the country to maintain the growth upward.
