Home appliance maker Whirlpool of India’s net profit zoomed 97 per cent to Rs 28.4 crore in the second quarter ended September 30. Profit in the corresponding period last year was Rs 14.4 crore.
The company’s total turnover grew 9.7 per cent at Rs 633.2 crore in the July-September quarter against Rs 577 crore in the year-ago period. “The growth is attributed to the relentless focus on innovation and cost, both of which have played a role in the quarter’s results. The new products we launched this summer have grown our share and strengthened our market presence.” said Arvind Uppal, Chairman.
