Apparel major Woodland intends to focus on the youth and hopes to garner major revenues through the fast-growing adventure sports segment.
“The youth are exploring new avenues for holidaying and looking for the right products to meet their demand,” Harkirat Singh, Managing Director, Woodland, said. Singh, who was here for a business review, told Business Line that they have lined up several products for outdoor sporting events such as mountaineering, trekking and water sports.
The idea is to reach out to youngsters through promotional activities, especially in educational institutions, to increase the revenue share.
The company has been consistently working on technology-led products that would support extreme adventure-related activities and ensure their safety.
New range“The super charged cotton apparels, temp-frost apparels and shoes, anti-microbe shoes are some of the recent launches in this category,” he added.
With the new product range, the company is looking at a revenue of ₹1,300 crore in FY-15 compared with last year’s figure of ₹1,000 crore, he said.
