Workers at Shasun Pharma’s active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and formulation facility at Pondicherry struck work on Saturday.
In a stock exchange filing on Monday, the company said it is doing the needful to resume operations at the earliest. It has termed the strike "illegal".
Established in 1986, the Puducherry API facility is dedicated to the manufacture of Ibuprofen (anti-inflammatory and pain drug) for supply to world markets. The formulation facility, spread over 9,290 sq m, was commissioned in 2005. It has an annual production capacity of over 3.0 billion tablets and 120 million capsules.
The company's share closed 0.78 per cent lower at Rs 63.90 on Monday on the BSE.
