John Chambers, Cisco System’s Executive Chairman, has said start-ups are going to drive growth and job creation in the country.
Indian start-ups have the potential to become the start-up engine of the world, he added.
Job creation Chambers, who is leading the US business delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES2017), has asserted that almost all job creation will happen from start-ups, while some large companies were cutting down their head counts.
Addressing the US-India Conclave for Leveraging Digital Partnerships at the T-Hub to mark the GES 2017 here on Tuesday, he said his firm invested huge sums in start-ups.
Chambers, who is also the Chairman of the U.S India Strategic Partnership Forum, felt that start-ups needed much more help than hand holding.
“They need more than capital. They need access to markets and partnerships,” he said.
He said the USIBC is looking at partnerships between India and the United States. “I’m a firm believer of dreams. You need to dream and work on how to make they come true,” he said.
