Zydus Wellness Ltd on Friday said its net profit increased by 59.6 per cent and sales by 13.1 per cent in the first quarter of 2012-13 ended June 30, 2012, as compared to the corresponding period in the last financial year.
While the net profit was Rs 13.5 crore (Rs 8.5 crore) on a consolidated basis, sales were Rs 103.3 crore (Rs 91.4 crore), the company said in a release.
On Friday, the company’s share price on the BSE closed 1.03 per cent down at Rs 429.
During the quarter, the company’s pillar brands continued to do well despite increasing competition and new entrants in the segment. Sugar Free, India’s largest selling sugar substitute, continued to dominate the market with a market share of over 90 per cent.
The company aims at posting revenues of Rs 500 crore by 2013.
